Q9-1. What is Coordinate System?

A. You can create node coordinate systems (subcoodinate systems) which have the axis of arbitrary

In the tree view, the coordinate system of the node which has in front of its name is the current coordinate system.

The current coordinate system is displayed in the figure port as follows:

+X axis - red
+Y axis - green
+Z axis - blue

The point of origin is the intersection point of X axis, Y axis and Z axis.

You can switch ON / OFF of display coordinate axis by 'Display Coordinate Axis' of 'Display' in the menu bar.

Q9-3. What is current coordinate system?

Q9-2. What is Coordinate System used for?

directions and which point of origin is the arbitrary point per a node.

A. It's used for product development, layout check-up, build direction check-up, press direction

check-up, process direction check-up, parting direction check-up and so on...

A. 'Current' means 'now' or 'at the present time'.

'Coordinate system' is a system which decides the coordinate, and is a generic name of sort of coordinate, the point of origine, and coordinate axis.

So 'current coordinate system' is the system which decides the coordinate currently operated.

The parts which you set as the current coordinate system has its own coordinate system.

Q9-4. I can't set current coordinate system.

A. Is 'NODE' selected at 'SELECTION MODE'?

When SELECTION MODE is 'ELEMENT', you can't set the current coordinate system.

How to set the current coordinate system...

There are 3 ways to set the current coordinate system.

1. Select a node which belongs to Root Assembly in the tree view, and then select 'Set current coordinate system' in the contextual menu by a right-click.

2. Select a part in the figure port, and then select 'Set current coordinate system' in the contextual menu by a right-click.

3. Select a part in the figure port or in the tree view, and then select 'Set current coordinate system' of 'Display' in the menu bar.

Q9-5. I can't carry out coordinate operation.

A. Is the current coordinate system established?

The current coordinate system is established at 'Root Assembly' at the initial condition, and easc part doesn't have the own coordinate system.
Set the current coordinate system first, and carry out coordinate system.

Coordinate system operation is the operation which makes the parts set as the current coordinate system, and makes indicated point the point of origin and makes indicated directions the axis..

Therefore, coordinate system operation cannot be performed only after performing a current coordinate system setup.

A. Point 1(P1) --- decides the point of origin of the coordinate system.

Point 2 (P2) --- decides X axis passing through P1 and P2.

Point 3 (P3) --- decides XY plane decides by P1, P2.and P3.

The direction from P1 to P2 is forward of X axis, and P3 side is forward of Y axis.

Q9-6. I can't operate Revolute by 3 Points well.
